The Southern Snow and Ice Driving Experience was formed in 2008 at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds. Focused on providing amazing experiences we specialise in offering a unique, fun, exciting & exhilarating Snow and Ice driving experience in an amazing environment and surroundings.

The courses and instruction was formulated during 2008 during consultation with many snow and ice driving instructors and winter testing specialists. We believe you will find the perfect mix of excitement, experience and fun here with us.

MANAGEMENT

Steve Gould
Steve is an experienced alpine environment event organiser who is currently employed by the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds, undertaking a number of tasks on mountain - including running our alpine lodge and developing the Southern Snow and Ice Driving Experience.
Steve's background study was at the University of Otago where I graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Marketing and Management and also a Bachelor of Physical Education specialising in event management & nutrition.

DRIVING INSTRUCTORS

We have a host of winter driving instructors based locally and internationally - our friendly and experienced instructors will ensure you and your team have an amazing day out on the snow and ice!

Graham Gambold
Winter test car driver still active in today's OEM testing and manufacturing, Graham brings a host of experience not only from the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds, but also from testing and vehicle companies all over the world.

Grant Aitken
Grant has a host of high performance driving credentials throughout New Zealand, he has over 30 years experience and is well known for his "Race to the Sky hill climb" which was held on the access road to the Southern Snow and Ice Driving Experience.
